(I was actually planning a version of this joke for an Afghanistan cartoon but the Ghani regime crashed and burned before I could use it. It was also partly inspired by an actual video of a Russian squad quietly creeping up to an occupied Ukrainian trench – which was the photo source for the first panel – and dropping grenades into it before shooting the place to pieces.)
