The Evolution of Raghead

Looking back, it’s strange how quickly Raghead’s been evolving. If one looks at the first strips, he was a much tougher, loner-style character, with harsher features and an aggressive viewpoint. However, I find myself quite unconsciously drawing him with much softer appearance and body language now, and he’s no longer a loner. The harsher role has been passed on to Mullah Muftihead.

I’ll be watching my own future handling of these characters with some interest.

Individual Raghead strips are also occasionally appearing on Subversify Magazine, which also regularly features my writing including fiction and articles.

Due to carpal tunnel syndrome, I am currently physically unable to type without great discomfort, which means I can’t really write. But I can still draw.

As always, if you enjoy Raghead, please share him with your online friends, contacts and forums. Thank you.

  1. I’ve been reading reverse chronology, and was just about to ask if I could copy and send your (best I’ve ever seen) strips via my email to family and friends, when I read this post. It is now Dec. 13, 2012. Is carpal tunnel better or worse? You can get voice recognition/reader software to type for you. I know several people who find it most helpful. Of course you already know, but I find your characters and settings astounding in representative detail. You use actaul cliche’ characteristics, and true observations, and spot-on imagination. Every line has a purpose —— and I don’t kniow wether to laugh hysterically of collapse in despair. Or maybe both. My boys used to draw cartoons of a similar style, when they were teens, and of course (then) they were not so sophisticated as yours, but your’s take me back down that memory path, as well as forcing me to see what is right now. Thank you ——–Granny
